WHAT IS THE NATIONAL CREDIT REGULATOR?
The National Credit Regulator (NCR) is an independent entity established by the National Credit Act (NCA) 34 of 2005 to regulate the credit industry.
What Does the NCR Do?
The NCR is responsible for:
- Registering and deregistering credit providers, credit bureaus, debt counsellors, and payment distribution agencies.
- Ensuring compliance with the National Credit Act (NCA) by these entities.
- Receiving, initiating, and investigating complaints about NCA violations.
At Simunye Debt Advisory, our debt counsellors are registered with the NCR, and we help thousands of over-indebted consumers get out of debt. Find out if you qualify for debt counselling.
How to Check if Your Debt Counsellor is Registered with the NCR
NCR Debt Counsellors are accountable to consumers and must adhere to the standards set by the National Credit Regulator. It’s crucial to ensure your Debt Counsellor is registered with the NCR before signing up for debt review. You can verify this by visiting the NCR website and checking the Debt Counsellor’s registration. You’ll need the debt counsellor’s NCR registration number to do this. To get Simunye Debt Advisory’s National Credit Regulator number, you can fill in our contact form or chat with one of our agents by calling us directly at 087 33 00 403.
